As a boy back in the 1970's, the founder of Carnelian Water Services, and his wonderful family, were blessed with an annual Summer vacation to the shores of Lake Tahoe. As North America's largest alpine lake, Tahoe's water glistens, unmatched in its beauty, and there's a lot of it. "The Big Drink" ranks as the largest lake by volume within the United States, with the exception of the 5 Great Lakes. Their family would stay on the west shore, usually in the Carnelian Bay area. Tahoe's pure deep blue water is unsurpassed among the beautiful lakes of the world. So, when it came time to name his company which would provide its clients with delicious, clean, and balanced water, of course Carnelian Bay came to mind.

The carnelian itself is a semi-precious gemstone, typically found in a lovely reddish-brown hue, similar to the glowing amber of a rock salt lamp. One interesting fact about the carnelian is that it was one of the 12 stones worn within the breastplate of the ancient priests during Old Testament times, representing one of the twelve tribes of Israel. Carnelian, like the salt we use in the service of our customers, is crystalline in nature. Accordingly, you will note the red crystal within the water pitcher that comprises our logo; this reddish water droplet represents both our namesake stone, as well as the salt we use to make your water nice and soft.
